Kill the idea that naivety is an unforgivable flaw but cynicism is just wisdom, murder it, chop it up and serve it for dinner, I don’t care, just end this bullshit idea that it’s better to hate than to love and better to rot in miserable bitter resignation than to hope for the best.
Remember in 1993 when Jurassic Park was like…the end all, be all of special effects?
not gonna lie that still looks intimately real
WARNING: FILM-MAKER NERDOUT IMMINENT!
The effects in the first Jurassic Park movie were amazing because they used every single tool at their disposal.
They mixed animatronics with CGI and made very clever use of lighting and motion.
That shot up there, that’s a fucking robot.
They made a fucking robot.
The scene where the t-rex is chasing the car is part CGI part robot. But it’s more than that.
It works so well because it’s shot at night, in the rain with everything moving at high speed.
This means our eyes expect it to be less detailed, it means blending is harder to see.
The brachiosaurs at the start are fully CGI, but they’re in full, bright daylight, which in some ways can be just as obscuring as darkness. It hides the flaws in the model not by concealing it but by putting it in a lighting where we would expect parts of it to look indistinct.
The understanding of lighting and angles in that first movie is amazing. The understanding of how human vision works is amazing.
The blending of CGI with props was fantastic.
There’s two types of anger one is dry and the other wet and basically wet anger is when your eyes water and your voice shakes and I hate that cause I feel weak when I’m crying while angry I like dry anger when your face is like stone and your voice is sharp I guess wet anger shows that you care too much and dry anger means you’re done.
This is the best description ever
